October 8 - National Merit Scholarship Corporation recognized eleven Seattle Academy seniors in this year’s competition, among the strongest numbers of honorees in Seattle Academy’s history. 

Simone Barley-Greenfield and Alex Brewer were both named National Merit Semifinalists and will continue in the scholarship competition toward National Merit Finalist status, announced this spring.  Out of the 1.5 million students who took the test, Simone and Alex are two of the 16,000 designated high scorers with National Merit Semifinalist status. 

The other 34,000 students designated high scorers, named National Merit Commended Students, include Madeleine Denman, Casey Fischer, Melissa Hamblin, David Harris, Andrew Helgren, Emma Kahle, Hillary Lundberg, Natalie Schermer, and Rachel Warren.
