Adrian Brandon'11 Named First-Team All-ECL

March 4 - Last week, Seattle Academy junior Adrian Brandon was named to the All-Emerald City League Boy’s First Team. His teammate, senior Drew Helgren was named to the All-ECL Second Team. On the girl’s side, sophomore Campbell Reynolds was named All-ECL Second Team.

“It’s great to see Adrian, Drew and Campbell being recognized for their great seasons,” said Cardinals athletic director Cathy Schick. “Their selections are well deserved.”

A three-year varsity player, Adrian was second in the league in scoring averaging 14.7 points per game. He led the Cardinals in scoring, assists, steals and blocked shots and was second on the team in rebounding. Adrian scored in double figures in 17 of the 21 games in which he appeared, topping the 20 point mark five times, including a career-high 25 points in a January 19 victory over Overlake.

“Adrian proved to be one of the best all-around players in the Emerald City League,” said Michael Claxton, Boys' Varsity Coach. “He’s lightning quick, can jump out of the building, and is super athletic. Adrian’s just a great all around player with unlimited potential. I can’t wait until his senior season next year.”

“Drew developed into a force to be reckoned with this season,” said Michael. “Leading the team in rebounds, a double-double performance became an average outing for our hard working power forward.”

“Campbell has improved so much from her freshman year,” said Cardinals Girls' Varsity Coach Cathy Schick. “We look forward to two more great years from her.”
